Nyaal Banyul: A Place of Baierr

Presented by

Wadawurrung Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation

Location

Podium Room 1 + 2, Wurriki Nyal, 137-149 Mercer St, Geelong VIC 3220

The site of Nyaal Banyul Geelong Convention and Event Centre was a known place of baierr (gathering) for Wadawurrung People. Wadawurrung People gathered for baierr all throughout the year to yarn, celebrate, share songs and dance, to trade, make decisions, solve problems and pass on knowledge. This event will showcase the co-design process with Traditional Owners to embed Wadawurrung Culture into Nyaal Banyul with panel members from the design team, Wadawurrung Traditional Owners and the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Trust.
